The Friends of Johnson Community Hospital, always aim to support our wonderful hospital staff and improve the experience of every patient who walks through the doors. Recently, we received a special request from the team who looks after our youngest patients.
The nursing staff asked for a floor-standing fan to be used in the Fish Room, which is the dedicated space where paediatric blood tests are carried out. Visiting the hospital for a blood test can be a particularly scary and anxious time for children, and keeping the environment as comfortable as possible is essential.
Of course, the Friends were delighted to agree to this request. We are pleased to share that the fan is now in situ and running in the Fish Room, helping to keep the space cool and calm for both the children and the nursing staff working hard to care for them.
It is often these relatively small purchases that make a massive difference, easing the lives of hospital staff and bringing a little extra comfort to patients when they need it most.
None of this would be possible without the ongoing generosity of our local community. Every donation and show of support allows us to say yes to requests like this one. We are incredibly grateful for your continued kindness.
