The Friends of Johnson Community Hospital are pleased to announce the donation of badges and bugs to the Blood Clinic, providing a small token of bravery for children undergoing blood tests. A visit to the hospital can be a stressful experience for anyone, but it is particularly daunting for children who may be frightened or anxious about the procedures ahead. The dedicated nurses and health community support workers in the Blood Clinic work tirelessly to soothe and reassure young patients during these challenging moments.
To help ease the experience, the Friends have once again donated badges and bugs – a colourful and fun reward given to children after their blood tests to acknowledge their bravery. These badges and bugs have been a hit in the past, and due to their popularity, the nursing staff requested additional supplies to continue offering them to young patients.
The Friends were delighted to fulfill this request, understanding the importance of making a hospital visit as positive as possible for children. Hopefully, these small gifts go a long way in brightening a child’s day and recognising their courage during a stressful time.
The Friends of Johnson Community Hospital remain committed to supporting the hospital’s staff and enhancing the experience for patients of all ages. By providing these badges and bugs, we hope to contribute to a more comforting and supportive environment for children visiting the Blood Clinic.
