Community Spirit Shines Bright at Johnson Community Hospital Fayre

The grounds of the Johnson Community Hospital came alive with laughter, music, and community spirit on Saturday, 4th July, as the Friends of Johnson Community Hospital hosted their annual Summer Fayre. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and support of local residents, the event successfully raised a fantastic £851.39 to support the hospital.

The incredible fundraising total was only made possible through a massive collaborative effort from local community groups including:
  • Pinchbeck WI, who kept everyone smiling with a delicious selection of homemade cakes.
  • The Spalding Lions, who brought fun for all the family with their fantastic array of games.
  • Blossoms Bees, Honey & Bee Products, who joined the festivities and generously made a donation to the charity.
  • Jackalope Coffee, who kept visitors beautifully refreshed throughout the afternoon.

The Friends’ own dedicated members were out in full force, running a Branded Items Stall, a Craft Stall, a Raffle, and the delightful “Name the Teddy” contest.

However, the undisputed stars of the Fayre were the talented members of the Spalding Community Choir, who captivated the crowds and provided a brilliant, uplifting soundtrack to a wonderful afternoon.

Reflecting on the triumph of the event, Christine Grocock, Secretary of the Friends of Johnson Community Hospital, said: “We are so lucky having our Community Hospital here in Spalding and it’s a pleasure to buy equipment for the hard-working nursing staff and for the comfort of the patients. But, of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our local community.”
The funds raised from the Summer Fayre will go towards enhancing patient comfort and providing equipment for the hospital’s dedicated nursing staff.
