Yesterday, members of the Friends of Johnson Community Hospital visited the hospital with floral tributes for all the lady patients. This has become a much-loved tradition for our charity and one that we are always delighted to continue each year.
Mothering Sunday can be a particularly difficult time for anyone who finds themselves in hospital, when they would much rather be at home surrounded by family and friends. The Friends hope that these small floral gifts bring a little joy and a reminder that people in the community are thinking of them.
The smiles and kind words from the patients mean a great deal to our members and remind us why the work of the Friends is so rewarding. It is only a small gesture, but one that we hope brightens the day for those spending Mothering Sunday on the ward.
Of course, gestures such as this would not be possible without the wonderful support we receive from our local community throughout the year. Your generosity allows the Friends to continue providing little extras that help make a stay in hospital more comfortable.
From all of us at the Friends of Johnson Community Hospital, we wish everyone a very Happy Mothering Sunday.
