A Warm Thank You to Broad Street Methodist Church

Today, members of the Friends of Johnson Community Hospital were warmly welcomed by Broad Street Methodist Church to receive a most generous donation of £644.72.

Mr Bryn Chappell, the Church Treasurer, recently contacted the Friends to say:

“Each year we choose a local charity to receive donations made for coffee after service every Sunday. Last September we chose the Friends of Johnson Hospital because of the great support you give in so many ways to improve the life of all users of our Community Hospital. We know the money will be put to good use.”

The Friends were touched by both the generosity and kindness shown by the Church and its congregation. During our visit, we were able to see first-hand the wonderful community spirit that thrives at Broad Street Methodist Church.

The Church offers an incredible range of weekly activities, all run by dedicated volunteers, including:

  • Monday: Welcome Space in the Hall (10am–2pm) – a warm, friendly place for a drink and a chat
  • Tuesday: Coffee Morning (10am–12 noon)
  • Tuesday: Shoppers Service (10.45 am) This is a short act of worship and is held in the Church.
  • Wednesday: Midweekers (2pm)
  • Thursday: Family Play for babies and toddlers (12.30pm–2.30pm)
  • Friday: Knit and Natter (10am and 12 noon)
  • Saturday: Messy Church (2pm–4pm)
  • Sunday: Traditional Service (10.30am)

The atmosphere during today’s Coffee Morning was wonderful — filled with the sound of friendly conversation, laughter, and the comforting aroma of coffee and cake.

The Friends would like to sincerely thank everyone at Broad Street Methodist Church for their generosity and community spirit. This donation will go towards purchasing much-needed equipment for our hard-working nurses and for the comfort and care of patients at Johnson Community Hospital.
