The Queen’s Nurse Award

Whilst visiting the hospital recently, the Friends had the privilege and honour of meeting a Queen’s nurse working hard within our Johnson Community Hospital.  Clinical Team Lead, Gale Bull’s wonderful achievement was reported in the Spalding Voice in May 2015.  As reported in the Spalding Voice, Gale’s career started in 1989 and she was one of 12 nurses on the very last intake of Enrolled Nurses in the UK. She qualified as a registered general nurse two years later.

The Queen’s Nurse Award is given to community nurses who provide exceptional care to their patients and demonstrate a continuing passion and enthusiasm for nursing. The Queen’s Nurse programme brings together community nurses to develop their professional skills, in turn delivering outstanding patient care within the community. The title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) is available to individual nurses who exhibit a remarkable commitment to patient well-being and excellence in nursing practice.
